One of the joys of visiting London is realising you’ve already seen many of its streets on the big screen. Whether you’re a Harry Potter fan, adore Paddington Bear or can quote every line from Love Actually, London’s streets, stations and neighbourhoods have starred in hundreds of films and television shows.
Here’s our guide to twelve of the very best locations you can visit yourself.
1. Platform 9¾ – Harry Potter
Perhaps London’s most famous fictional location.
Although Platform 9¾ doesn’t really exist, King’s Cross Station has an official photo spot complete with disappearing luggage trolley and a Harry Potter shop.

2. The Paddington Family House
Film: Paddington
Grade II-listed, 4-story Regency-style Victorian terraced townhouse dating back to the 1800s. Although Paddinton is filmed in various London locations, perhaps most iconic is Paddington and the Brown’s street, which though called Windsor Gardens in the film, is actually Chalcot Crescent in Primrose Hill in real life.
The Brown family’s beautiful home is one of the most recognisable houses from the Paddington films. There was a time in 2024 when you could stay in this house via a booking through Airbnb, but sadly the booking window is now closed, you can still check out the outside of this house by going and visiting it on Chalcot Crescent.
I love seeing the bike parked in the hallway, it should definitely be featuring a Goodordering bicycle pannier bag!
It sits on the colourful curved terrace of Chalcot Crescent in Primrose Hill.

4. The Notting Hill Bookshop

Although the original Travel Bookshop has closed, fans still visit the former location where Hugh Grant’s character worked.

5. The Blue Door
Notting Hill
The famous blue front door from the film became one of London’s most photographed doorways.
The original has since been replaced, but the house remains a popular stop.

6. Love Actually Bookshop
Where Hugh Grant and Martine McCutcheon enjoy one of the film’s sweetest moments.
This charming pedestrian street is still full of cafés and independent shops.

7. Leadenhall Market – Harry Potter
This spectacular Victorian market became part of Diagon Alley.
The entrance to the Leaky Cauldron was filmed here. You can visit this market easily by going to Liverpool street and walking towards the Thames. In the market you will find some modern British brands such as Hobbs, Reiss and Barbour.

Leadenhall Market began life as a forum in the centre of Roman London and there has been a market on the site since the 14th century. The Victorian-built arches of today’s market are filled with reminders of bygone eras.
8. Millennium Bridge
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
The dramatic opening sequence showing the Death Eaters destroying the bridge was filmed here.
Fortunately, in real life, the bridge remains perfectly intact.
